Age 14 – 18 years

Our Explorers meet on Tuesdays at 8:00pm – 9:30pm during Nottinghamshire school term time, at Greenwood Community Centre.
They make up the fifth section of the Scouts. Each Explorer Unit is made up of young people aged 14 to 18, led by adult volunteers who are on hand to share their skills and keep everyone safe.
Within their Unit, Explorers are part of a Patrol – smaller groups of Explorers who look out for one another, and help each other grow. Explorers usually gather in their Patrols at the beginning and end of meetings. They might also stick together on expeditions or trips away, or during certain activities.
Explorers engage in a wide range of activities, both indoor and outdoor, which build upon their experiences gained from previous sections. They also have the opportunity to upskill their abilities and challenge themselves to try new things at greater depth.
This is also the time to practice their leadership skills as they prepare for the next chapter of Scouting in the Network and adult volunteer sections.
All our leaders have undergone a DBS check and they all undertake training in running an Explorer unit. You can be certain that your child will be in safe hands!
