The typical uniform our Young People are expected to wear to sessions and events are:
- Official Scouts uniform top (see below for each section’s specific uniform top) with core group badges and earned Scouting badges
- Group neckerchief (necker)
- Woggle
Official Scouts UK uniforms
Official Scouts uniform tops are available to purchase from the on-line Scout Shop at www.scouts.org.uk/shop.
We recommend that you obtain a larger size uniform sweatshirt/shirt than you normally would to allow it to fit throughout your child’s time in their section.

Squirrel Scout Uniform
Squirrel Scouts wear a practical, smart uniform consisting of a red crew neck sweatshirt, along with the Group neckerchief and a woggle. Where smart dress is required, the uniform top can be used with school trousers/skirt and black shoes. You can purchase it from the official Scouts UK online store.
A Group polo shirt is also available – these are purchased via TGR’s online shop (Click&Collect service).

Beaver Scout Uniform
Beaver Scouts wear a practical, smart uniform consisting of a turquoise crew neck sweatshirt, along with the Group neckerchief and a woggle. Where smart dress is required the uniform top can be used with school trousers/skirt and black shoes. You can purchase it from the official Scouts UK online store.

Cub Scout Uniform
Cub Scouts wear a practical, smart uniform consisting of a dark green crew neck sweatshirt, along with the Group neckerchief and a woggle. Where smart dress is required the uniform top can be used with school trousers/skirt and black shoes. You can purchase it from the official Scouts UK online store.

Scout Uniform
Scouts wear a practical, smart uniform consisting of a teal green shirt/blouse, along with our group neckerchief and a woggle. Activity trousers and a belt also form part of the official uniform, however in appreciation of the initial outlay it is acceptable to just wear the shirt and, where smart dress is required, the uniform shirt can be used with school trousers/skirt and black shoes. Explorer Scout Uniform
Explorers get their own set of uniform to wear during meetings and on trips away. Usually, this consists of a beige shirt or blouse with their badges sewn on along with our ESU neckerchief and woggle.
Alongside their shirts, Explorers might wear the accompanying blue uniform trousers or skirt, or they might save their uniform bottoms to wear for special occasions like awards ceremonies and public events – choosing to wear something more casual with their shirt during the week. You can purchase it from the official Scouts UK online store.
Our Explorers also have a custom hoodie with name personalisation – these are ordered via the Group.

Neckerchief (necker), woggles & badges
Our group neckerchief, woggle and the badges your child will need/earn are supplied by us.
For the initial investment into 2nd Toton Scout Group, the necker, woggle and core badges have a one off charge when they first join.
Young People are required to purchase their Uniform before they are formally invested. Investment takes place anytime after your child’s third session with us, to allow time for them to decide if they would like to continue long-term before the need to purchase any uniform items.

Group Polo Shirt – All Sections:
At 2nd Toton, we have our own supplier of Group Polo Shirts & Hoodies.
This can be worn underneath the official Scouting uniform tops and will be used during activities when our smart, uniformed attire is not necessary. Group polo shirts are the same design for all sections so your child will only need a new one when they grow out of it.
For safeguarding reasons, child polo shirts will not have the name printing option.
Only our adult leaders, helpers and Young Leaders will have their name embroidered under the logo.
